Description

Powerful map editing / block movement

Instructions

MCEdit is a versatile map utility, designed for moving blocks from one level to another. With it, you can open a level of nearly any type and fly around in glorious 3D with multiple levels of detail! Select millions of blocks and clone them anywhere else in the level. Fill a boxy selection with the block of your choice, or replace one kind of block with another. Export blocks to a "schematic" file for later use. Import a schematic or an entire level into any world using the crane. Move the player or his spawn point. Create and and remove chunks from the world. Fill blackened areas with light. Find bugs!

Lol. What a n00b! If you are playing Minecraft, you should at least know what an archive is.

You don't extract anything that has to do with Minecraft- Even Texture packs. This will make the program or texture pack you got not work. This applies for mods and any minecraft editors as well.

For those who keep saying this, you need a program called WinRAR to open these things on Windows. If you don't have WinRAR then use 7zip.

You can get Bitzipper also. WINRAR costs money, but BITXIPPER is free for a 30 day trail (If you don't use it one day then that day won't expire off).

I've had the same problem that siim kork had.

I tried using MCEdit today to change a pig spawner into a creeper spawner for my creeper temple.
Problem: I couldn't close MCEdit after saving my map, 3 minutes of a completely frozen system went by before my antivirus software started going crazy. saying there was a virus in the MCEdit folder.

eventually my PC managed to restart itself, my antivirus software told me it had removed the virus, and I deleted the MCEdit folder.

surprisingly, the pig spawner has changed into a creeper spawner, so the program does actually work. (until it freezes, that is)

It seems good. But maybe you should make a Linux version for this thing. That will help a lot of people out (maybe).
